Maryville Circuit Court is the circuit court of Nodaway County in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of the Missouri Circuit court system. Hearings for city ordinance and traffic violations from the cities of Burlington Junction, Clyde, Hopkins, Ravenwood and Skidmore are heard in the Associate Division of this circuit court. US 71, US 136, SR 46, SR 71 and SR 113 criss-cross the county.

The close to 12,000 residents of Maryville and visitors to the city have a great place for outdoor recreation, Mozingo Lake park a close to 3,000-acre area with about 26 miles of shoreline surrounding a lake covering approximately 1,000 acres. The park is located just East of Maryville and was designed to be the main source of water for the city. The Mozingo Golf Course is also located in this park. The park has available areas for fishing, swimming, a large RV Park (the majority with electricity, water, bathhouse, and laundry), primitive camping sites, walking trails and selected hunting spots. The park also has a youth camp with cabins, boat docks and large shelters with restrooms. The city's 4th of July celebration is held here.
