Come to the annual Missouri State Fair held at the fairgrounds in this city. It has an opening day parad and all the usual livestock shows and exhibits and a Farm Toy Show. During this fair the State Fair arena is the scene of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboys Association finals rodeo, the ATV rodeo point series, the Final championship round of the Missouri Fair Cross Series (featuring quads and motorcycles), antique, classic and farm tractor pull, championship bull riding and a demolition derby. THe fair also provides four public campgrounds. The city's parks are Centennial, Clover Dell, Housel, Hubbard, Katy,
Liberty, Skate and Vermont. These parks in combination provide the residents with sports complexes, ballfields, swimming pools, shelters, soccer fields, a lake, basketball courts, playgrounds, horsehoe pits, skateboard facilities, tennis courts, a baseball stadium, Little League fields and a convention hall.
