The annual Pike County fair is held at the end of July on the fairgrounds in Bowling Green. This event has adult and youth archery shoots, a 4-H Gymkhana at the horse arena, livestock shows, a petting zoo and a beer garden. In addition there are carnival rides, a rodeo, live musical and other entertainment on the main stage. An Amish community is located just a short distance from Bowling Green. Visitors are welcome to their shops which have such handcrafted goods as cabinets and furniture, quilts, rugs, baked goods, jams, jellies, candies, fabrics, harness gear and rugs. Bowling Green City park has a walking path, reflection pool, shelter house, picnic and playground areas. The park also includes facilities for sports recreation such an outdoor swimming pool, lighted baseball and soccer fields and basketball courts. Visitor Center park has a walking path and small lake just great for a short break or a picnic. |
