About the area |
Contrary to what many may think, this city does not have its name because more humans live here than anywhere anywhere else. It gets its name from one of the early settlers to the area who was its founder. Humansville was the birthplace of Zoe Akins, Pulitzer Prize winner, who wrote over 40 plays of which 18 were produced on Broadway. She is best known for her play "The Greeks Had a Word For It" which was adapted for the screen as "How to Marry a Millionaire". |
