The building housing the Sikeston Depot museum opened as the Iron Mountain Railroad Train Depot around 1916 and is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. The exhibits here portray the history of the Mississippian Indians tribes, the cotton growing heritage, the history of Parks Air Base, the invention of the mechanical horse and the history of Sikeston. The Art Gallery exhibits works from local and regional artists and changes every two months. The Southeast Missouri Agriculture Museum and Granny's Antiques has a large collection of antique farm machinery representative of the region’s rich agriculture heritage with over 6,000 pieces of antique farm equipment. In addition to he indoor display areas comprising the main museum there are five outer buildings of historic interest, including two Missouri log cabins (circa 1880), one wooden railroad caboose, one relocated railroad depot and a reconstructed 1920’s service station. The Harvey Parks Air Base which opened for operation in 1940, served as a flight training school for pilots entering the U.S. Army Air Corps and is now the SIkeston Municipal Airport. Mid-October is time for the annual Harvest Festival which features pumpking painting, a "Falling Leaves Sing-along", dancing to "The Monster Mash", a Halloween diarama art project and farmers harvest exhibit.
