Wentzville is quite a lrge city with of population of close to 30,000. The annual five day St. Charles County Fair held at Wentzvilleâs Rotary Park in July is filled with live entertainment, open 4-H and Future Farmers of America live stock exhibits including Beef, Sheep and Rabbit, Goats, Lamb, Swine and Poultry breeding, home economics and fine arts project exhibits and plenty of food booths. Exhibitors are awarded prizes as decided by judges in all the categories exhibited. The annual Greater St Louis Renaissance Faire is also held at the Rotary Park on Saturdays and Sundays and Memorial Day from the middle of May through the first week in June. For this event a wooded, 16th century village is created where you can see costumes and mannerisms of the era, jousting knights on thundering steeds, village shops with unique crafts and goods in which artisans demonstrate period skills. There is plenty of delicious food and drink to enjoy while strolling minstrels entertain. The National Horseshoe Pitchers Association hall of fame and museum is located within Quail Ridge County Park. |
