About the area |
Although Kinloch is the oldest all-African American community west of the Mississippi River it is today essentially a ghost town. This was primarily due to the City of St. Louis buying up property to expand Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. This eventually led to a sharp decline in the city's population. |
