Milan Circuit Court is the circuit court of Sullivan County in the Ninth Judicial Circuit of the Missouri Circuit court system. The city ordinance and traffic violations for the cities of Milan (roads SR 5, SR 6, SR E and SR C run through various parts of the city) and Green City (SR 6 and SR 129 run through the city) are heard in the Associate division of this court.

Two remnants of the railroads which served Milan still remain. The Quincy, Omaha, and Kansas City railroad office building is now a museum maintained by the Sullivan County Historical Society. The old depot and caboose which served the Burlington & SouthWestern and Quincy, Omaha, and Kansas City railroads is still standing with many of the original features in place. There is the original waiting room with its bench, display cases, shoeshine stand and antique trunk and office with agent's double desk, telegraph equipment and antique office equipment. Outside you can see the baggage room, antique fire hydrant, tools & lanterns, conestoga wagon, mail sleigh, the original platform, signs and standards, switch stands, handcar shed and in all its glory a BN caboose 11443
