About the area |
This is the city where the great bandleader Glenn Miller's musical career was born. He started his music training while in school at Grant City and worked in a shoe shine stand owned the band director. Miller was not a native of Grant City, but moved here with his family around 1915 and earned money milking cows to buy his first trombone. a monument at the courthouse commemorates his life here. The Grant City pool and the Grant City skating rink are two places in town which attract most of the residents. |
