About the area

One of the fiercest battles of the Civil War was fought over Hartville. A Confederate force hoping to drive the Union garrisons from the area around the town fought with Union troops who arrived to support their forces in retaking the city. Fisherman trying their luck at Casador lake, South of Hartville, will find large amounts of largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie waiting for them.
