This is a city that probably has more Oak trees than people. In case you haven't heard, don't use the privately owned post office in town to mail anything anymore; it's now the new home of the Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department. The town's annual yard sale seems to be working out after a couple of tries, Not only can you get homemade jams, jellies and breads at this sale but folks will be happy to sell you their used but good clothes, Halloween costumes, toys and furniture. One of the first houses constructed in the area when lumber was king is the The Dr. James Cherry Home “The Blue House”.
