The Confederate States of America had only one President, Jefferson Davis and his home was Beauvoir in Biloxi. The site of over 51 acres is on the Gulf of Mexico. This structure was once the Mississippi Confederate soldierâs home, which cared for hundreds of Southern veterans and their wives. The Hurricane Camille Memorial is on the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer's Biloxi beachfront grounds. Although the church was destroyed and the memorial damaged by Hurricane Katrina; the memorial has been repaired and is a memorial to the dead or missing on the Mississippi Coast. |
