About the area |
This city has an interest in academics with the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast campus and the West Harrison County Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College just to the Northwest. The Long Beach High School has a really terrific band. They recently received great ratings at a competition in Gulfport. This school also has jazz and concert bands. The city has a very good relationship with Navy servicemen and women who call South Mississippi home. the city strengthened this bond recently with a proclamation honoring the servicemen and women. |
