| About the area |
The National Trust for Historic Preservation describes the Blue Rose, which in its current state is a restaurant and antiques shop, as "the most significant antebellum house" on the western portion of Pass Christian's beachfront. This cottage was built in the 1840's and later was the home of the descendants of Mrs. Manders who during the Civil War halted the Federal shelling of the town by waving her bed sheets from the balcony of her cottage. |
