One of the most outstanding sites to see in this city is the La Pointe-Krebs House, built around 1718, standing guard on a bluff over Krebs Lake. It was part of a compound, inside a stockade, consisting of 10 buildings the first of which is a carpenter shop belong to the original owner, . The cemetery next to the house is the final resting place of settlers to the area dating back to 1732.
