About the area |
There is little remaining of Paulding today, and it is the only unincorporated county seat within the state of Mississippi. The historic courthouse at Paulding was destroyed by fire in 1937 and all its records went up in smoke. An old general merchandise store is one of the few remaining original buildings along with Saint Michael Church which was erected in the 1840's. |
