About the area |
Although you might think Carthage was named for some ancient city; it was actually given its name for the hometown, Carthage, Tennessee, of the family which established the city in the 1830's . With its early beginnings it still only considers its two most historic buildings, the Post Office and the Courthouse which were built in the first half of the 20th century. |
