Tupelo has a thriving cultural atmosphere. The Oren Dunn Museum presents exhibits which represent pre-history fossils, our early settlement and a scaled model railroad of 1940âs era Tupelo. Outside the building a village has been constructed with historical items such as an 1879 Dogtrot cabin, the Sparkâs one room chapel and one room school, a functioning blacksmith shop, two 1940âs era fire trucks, a Frisco caboose, the Lee County Bookmobile, and the Memphis streetcar turned into âDudieâs Diner. The Tupelo Symphony Orchestra in addition to holding a free outdoor concert at Tupeloâs Ballard Park around July 4th; presents concerts at the Civic Auditorium with appearances by special conductors and soloists. The Lyric Theatre on North Broadway street presents productions by the Tupelo Community Theatre.
