The City of Brandon has six community parks covering over 140 acres and providing various forms of outdoor recreation. The city also runs a host of programs for its youth including youth baseball, youth softball, youth flag and tackle football. Also provided are several adult softball leagues which play three seasons. Not wanting to leave the 20th century empty handed a group of country music enthusiasts got together and started Barnyard Opry in a converted barn. This small music theater presents a live country music show the first and third Saturday of each month featuring Country Sound, the Opry's house band, and a guest group. Here you can listen to and enjoy a lot of country music from the 50's and 60's
