To find out about Tippah County visit the Tippah County Historical Museum in Ripley. There all kinds of data here about the history of the county, its past, and the many noted figures who were instrumental in the evolution of the county. During the Civil War the courthouse was burned by Federal troops; however many valuable records were preserved and hidden until the end of the war and installed in the present day courthouse.
