About the area |
The annual Walthall County Dairy Festival, held in Tylertown, is not as you might expect held to honor the dairy industry in the county; rather it is the way the dairymen choose to say thank you to the community. Held in Holmes Water Park, this event features the Dairy Festival Queen pageant and free milk and ice cream. Who would not want to come just for that treat? Besides arts and crafts and plenty of food their are several competitions such as baby contests, a mooing contest, a butter churning contest and sack races; and not least of all the only one of its kind in the world Dairy Festival Turtle Races. Live musical entertainment is provided throughout the day concluding with a giant fireworks display.
