About the area |
Several old mansions around Greenville provide some fine examples of the architecture of a bygone era. The Belmont Plantation, an antebellum home built in the 1850's managed to escape burning by Union forces during the Civil War. Mount Holly Plantation, an example of Italianate architecture, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Linden Plantation is an example of Colonial Revival architecture and was built in the early 1900's.
