Big Horn County Court (Phone No. 406-665-9750, Fax 665-9755) is also formally known as the Big Horn County District Court. The Hardin Justice Court (Phone No. 406-665-9760, Fax 665-9764) is located in the same building and has the same mailing address as the county court. Both of these courts are in the Twenty-Second judicial district of Montana. The justice court handles civic and traffic infractions occurring throughout Big Horn county except for those that occur within the city limits of Hardin. SR 47 coming down Big Horn county from the North meets IS 90 and US 87 around Hardin. US 212 and SR 313 are also major roads in this county.

Big Horn county is home to the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Indian Nations and to the Big Horn, Pryor and Wolf Mountain ranges. While you are in this county you might be interested in visiting the Little Bighorn Battlefield, where a combined force of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors defeated Lt. Colonel George Custer and the 7th Calvary in 1876. Each June there is a re-enactment of the battle. The annual Crow Fair is held by the Crow Nation August. At this event you can expect to see over 1,000 pitched teepees. In addition the event is attended thousands of people who gather to take part in the traditional dances, drumming and other Indian ceremonies.
