You would think that being at the threshhold of Glacier National park would be enough for the recreational needs of the residents of Columbia Falls. However, they have a large number of parks in this city. There are ten of them and they include the Pinewood Family Aquatic center, the Don Lawrence amphitheater and baseball and soccer fields. The amphitheater, in Marantette park is home to the Summer Concert series held every Thursday evening during the season. The annual Heritage Days festival is held at the end of July and opens with the annual Car Show at Marantette park. This event also features a rodeo, parade, concert and craft fair with plenty of good eating mixed in at the barbecues, luncheons and Fireman's breakfast.
