Gallatin County Court is formally known as the Gallatin County District Court and lies in Montana's Eighteenth judicial district. |
| About the area |
Gallatin County was formed around 1863. New settlers to the area came over the Bozeman trail which was the Northern spur of the Oregon trail. This trail was shutdown by the the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians who wanted to discourage new settlers into the area. Around 1893 a land grant college called Montana State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts was founded. Today this is Montana State University.
