Judith Basin County Court

Judith Basin County Court may also be known as the district court of Judith Basin county in the Tenth judicial district of Montana.

Judith Basin is located between the Little Belt and Snowy Mountains to the South, the Highwood Mountains to the West, the Judith Mountains to the East and the Missouri river and historic Fort Benton delineate the Northern boundary of the basin. There were already Buffalo hunts, deer and antelope sunning themselves, stage coaches passing through, sheepherders watching their bands, cattle drives and prospectors panning for gold in the area when the well known Western artist Charlie Russell arrived in Judith Basin. His scenes of cattle round-ups and cowboys were drawn from his observations as a night herdsman. The Packard Homestead, built of fir logs and considered to be the oldest house in Old town Stanford, predates the plotting of the town.
