About the area |
St. Ignatius lies at the foot of the Mission mountains. There is an Amish community here just North of town. A visit to the National Bison Range Wildlife refuge, West of town, might make your day or you could fish in the lake behind Mission Dam, McDonald Lake or St Mary's Lake. Just remember to get you tribal permit, after all you are on a reservation. July is when this city holds its Good Old Days festival. This event has a dessert baking contest, barbecue, Ferris wheel, bungee jumps a pancake breakfast, buffalo run and parade. |
