Conrad Justice Court

Conrad Justice Court is in the Ninth judicial district of Montana. It handles civic and traffic infractions occurring throughout Pondera county with the the exception of those occurring within the city limits of Conrad. At present it also handles those occurring in the town of Valier. US 89 runs through the western part of Poindera county and IS 15 runs through the Eastern part of the county with SR 44 connecting the two of them. US 91, SR 219, SR 366, SR 365 and SR 369 are good size roads in the Eastern part of the county. SR 44 runs through Valier.

The annual Conrad Whoop-Up Days and Rhubarb festival is held at the beginning of June. The first full day starts off with a great pancake breakfast offered free by the Lion's club followed by a youth parade and then the grand parade. The festival also features a rodeo, Country Music showdown and an Antique Car show. You also can taste that wonderful rhubarb delicacy with pie sales, pie contest, biggest rhubarb leaf contest, dessert and other dishes from the rhubarb contest. Not to be outdone during the festivities the Pondera Players put on a play over the three day period. At the time of its construction around 1918, the Orpheum theater had an orchestra accompany the silent movie shown. After several ownerships and its closing it fell into disrepair in the 1990's. It has been restored by the Pondera Arts Council to where it not only is a movie house but it serves as a place for live musical entertainment and cultural events.
