About the area |
Pondera county was formed from part of Chouteau and Teton counties by an act of the Montana Legislative Assembly in the Spring of 1919. It is populated in the Western part of the county by large mountain ranges. Wheat production is the significant part of the economy in this county although to a lesser extent the barley, hay, oilseed, peas and livestock production exists as well. |
