Forsyth City Court

Forsyth Court lies within the Sixteenth judicial district of Montana. IS 94 runs along the Southern part of Forsyth and US 12 just clips the Western part of town.

The large amount of cottonwood in the area first drew captains of steamers on the Yellowstone river to stop here for refueling. As a town Forsyth began around 1880 and two years later the Northern Pacific railroad reached the town. Around 1910 the Milwaukee Railroad extended North to the town making it a trading hub for the area. The Rosebud County Pioneer museum is and its visitors are fortunate that they have been able to acquire collections from Forsyth and Rosebud County's founding families. As a result when you visit here you will be able to see everyday items used around the beginning of the 20th century such as vintage clothing, barbed wire, a restored steam engine, Indian artifacts and beadwork and various farm implements. Forsyth's parks have a range of facilities such as tennis courts, a running track, softball and football fields and playground equipment. The city also has an indoor swimming pool. East Rosebud State Recreation area is a nice place to take a walk and enjoy nature.
