Columbus City Court

Columbus Court lies within the Twenty-Second judicial district of Montana. IS 90 runs through the Northernmost part of Columbus and SR 421 through the Southeast part of town. SR 78 meets SR 306 in town.

Columbus lies next to the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains and Yellowstone National park. One of the stage stations on the Yellowstone trail was in the area of Columbus and was the beginning of the town. the Columbus Quarry fine sandstone was the source of income for the town and the railroad for many years. The exhibits at the Museum of the Beartooths is representative of the multi-cultural mix of miners, frontiersmen, cattlemen, homesteaders and Native cultures who lived in Stillwater County. The exhibits in the museum building include a tribute to native Donald J. Ruhl, one of Montana's seven Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, a "Welcome to Stillwater County" exhibit, a "Hard Rock Mine" exhibit of the history of mining in the county and the Stillwater Mining Company, "Baaxawuaahaliiko" Wheat (bread) House In The Past representing a history of the second Crow Agency, and an exhibit on the 1938 Frank Robideau hanging and archives of archives of thousands of photographs, local newspapers, oral histories and original documents. On the museum grounds there are several interesting buildings and structures; the T.T. Brown Schoolhouse, the Albert Johnson Tack Shop, a blacksmith shop, a building that houses special large collections, farming equipment and a 1960's Northern Pacific caboose,
