About the area
Nashua lies along Porcupine creek where the creek runs into the Milk river. Nashua was founded around 1903 with the first homestead near its present site. Although the Great Northern railroad passed it by the town had a store, school, hotel and a saloon. The town experienced its greatest days financially during the construction of the Fort Peck dam in the 1930's. The town now has a full-service gas station, a cafe serving popular homemade ice cream, a grocery store, bowling alley, post office, two churches and two bars. Except for the grain elevators there are no tall structures in town allowing for great views of the surrounding scenery from anywhere in town. The Nashua Civic Center is the central point in town for community events. You will find Lions park in town a nice place in which to relax.
