One of the courts in the Thirteenth judicial district of Montana is the Billings Justice Court. It handles violations of civic ordinances and traffic regulations occurring in Yellowstone county outside the city limits of Billings and Laurel. IS 90, IS 94, US 87 and SR 3 are the major roads available to motorists in Yellowstone county.

When the Northern Pacific railroad came to this area at the beginning of the 1880's Billings was founded. The Western Heritage center is the place to learn about the settlers who came to the Yellowstone valley and the Northern Plains. It is filled with extensive collections of photographs, Native American artifacts, Regional Western art, architectural drawings, fire fighting equipment, Thomas Molesworth furniture, Regional Western tack, clothing and textiles, guns and Yellowstone Valley memorabilia. There are additional exhibits which are displayed from time to time. The Nova Center for the performing arts presents productions throughout the year at the Venture theater.
