About the area

In the 1880's Billings already had a population close to 800. Around 1906, the Crow Reservation Bill opened over 1,000,000 acres for settlement Southeast of the Yellowstone River area and they came to the county by the hundreds. Those who love to browse and buy home made goods flock to the annual Rocky Mountain Sewing and Craft festival held at the Shrine Auditorium in Billings in September.
