About the area |
Created and organized back in the early years of the 1770s, this community of almost 540 square miles of extension has more than 71200 residents with a population density of 132 people per square mile. Rowan County is the father of this land member of the regional Northwest Piedmont Council of Governments which is divided into fifteen townships sharing border lines with Carroll (VA), Patrick (VA), Grayson (VA), Stokes, Forysth, Yadkin, Wilkes, and Alleghany Counties. Blue Ridge Parkway must be one of the notable locations that you are going to visit in this territory of the Appalachian Mountains region which is irrigated Ararat River, Mitchell River, Yadkin River, and other minor confluences. |
