This city has 10 recreational facilities including the city auditorium, Charlie Brown field, Dacotah pavilion, recreation center and the Valley City Community pool and 9 parks including the Valley City Skate park and a 9-hole Disc Golf course. The Barnes County Municipal airport is located just North of town.
