Exhibits at the Barnes County museum include an HO scale model of the Hi-Line Bridge, the shoes of pioneer resident Christian Paetow the largest man in Dakota Territory, early transportation, a one room school display, wood carvings, soda shop and local military history as well as items related to the history of the Sheyenne River Valley. This city has 10 recreational facilities including the city auditorium, Charlie Brown field, Dacotah pavilion, recreation center and the Valley City Community pool and 9 parks including the Valley City Skate park and a 9-hole Disc Golf course. The Barnes County Municipal airport is located just North of town. |
