Fort Dilts State Historic site at Rhame is the place where a wagon train led by Capt. James L. Fisk was attacked by Sioux Indians, including Sitting Bull, in 1864. The Maah Daah Hey Trail is a non-motorized trail open for biking, hiking and horseback riding. It starts at the Burning Coal Vein campground the site of the Burning Coal Vein whose fires smoldering in the coal layer several feet underground no longer burn. Throughout the county there are areas with opportunities to hunt for pheasant, Grouse, whitetail, mule deer, antelope and waterfowl. The Rouzie Recreation center in Bowman has basketball and volleyball courts, an exercise room, a weight room, outdoor Olympic size pool and baby pool and a stage. |
