Linton District Court is formally known as the Emmons COunty District Court and is in the South Central judicial district of North Dakota.

About the area

Emmons County formally became a county around 1883. For a time a battle went on as to whether Linton or Williamsport would be the county seat with Linton winning out. Crime is almost unheard of in Linton, which pleases the residents immensely. Many of the people in Linton take advantage of the fact that the Beaver Bay campground is only a few miles to the West. This facility on Lake Oahe and the Missouri river has showers, boat ramps, a fish cleaning station and a playground.
