About the area |
Lake LaMoure, located a few miles South of LaMoure is a good place for enjoying the outdoors all year long. In the warm months the lake is crowded with boats, jet skis, fishermen and swimmers. It's not so crowded in the winter months with the anglers who go there for ice fishing. The lake has a public boat ramp and a campground with electric hook-ups. A short drive to the Southeast of the city you will upon the Toy Farmer museum. A barn built around 1914 was restored to provide room for the exhibition of Lowell Davis' sculptured barns and farming scenes as well as as the extensive Burhholder collection of farm toys. The James River Damsite park and Sunset park are popular location for residents with latter having a swimming pool. The Leroy Good Softball complex is home to municipal softball leagues and the scene of some exciting games. |
