About the area |
For many years the area around Cavalier was home the Ojibwa, Dakota, Assiniboine, and Cree. The Pembina State museum has four new galleries which trace North Dakota history from the geologic past of 500 million years ago through today; Adaptation Gallery for Geologic Time, Innovation Gallery for Early Peoples, Inspiration Gallery for Yesterday and Today and the Governors gallery which displays traveling exhibits. Another new addition is The Treehouse which serves to introduce youngsters up to third-grade to the museum world. The Observation tower, seven stories high, provides a view of the Red River valley and a 360-degree view for ten miles. The Cavalier City park play areas and picnic shelters. |
