| About the area |
A missionary born in St. Jean, Quebec was the first settler in the area when he built the St. Claude mission. Around 1885 as more settlers moved into the area the town grew and the town developed Southward towards where it sits today. St. John is a small town with a population of about 352 which has been on a small decline since the year 2000. The town covers under 0.3 of a square mile. They do have a high school with football, girls volleyball and boys and girls basketball teams. The Rolette County Recreational facility in St. John is the scene of community events and is the home court of the St. Johns basketball team. |
