This town is home to Mayville State university and residents can go to some exciting games of the school's football, volleyball and basketball teams. The Mayville State University and Community Fine Arts series each year provides an opportunity for residents to hear music at concerts of the some of the highest quality guest artists. The university also provides a place for town residents to enjoy dramatic and musical offerings presented by the school's Drama department in the Old Main theatre. The town has three wonderful parks and a water park. There is a bridge connecting Island park, which is mostly surrounded by water from an oxbow of the Goose river, with the streets and sidewalks of Mayville. Rainbow Garden has beautiful floral displays and a collection of outdoor art works in the form of sculptures. Pioneer park includes a log cabin and is intended as a tribute to early settlers of the area.
