Located at the head waters of the Sheyenne River, Harvey is close to the Lonetree Wildlife Management area providing an opportunity for all to enjoy the wildlife and scenic beauty around the area. among the parks maintained by the city of Harvey, Pioneer park, has an outdoor swimming pool, picnic shelters, playground equipment, softball diamond, sandboxes, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, illuminated basketball court, volleyball court and a nine-hole miniature golf course and Schroeder Memorial park along the Sheyenne River has a beach area for public swimming, water-skiing and boat launching facilities, boating, fishing and picnic shelters. A few miles East of Harvey lies the museum town of Manfred all of whose buildings have been restored.
