Buffalo County Courthouse is where you can find the county court and the district court and they are each part of their respective Ninth judicial district of Nebraska. SR 2 only passes through the Northeastern part of Buffalo county but SR 10 and US 183 traverse the whole length of the county and meet IS 80 and US 30 in the Southern part of the county. US 183 also meets SR 40 midway through the county. |

Guess you did not know that Kearney is the Sandhill Crane capital of the the world but rest assured it is; because during March and early April of each year over 500,000 sandhill cranes stop at the Platte River valley on their northward migration. That's not all that's happening in this city. On annual Cruise Niite hundreds of cars line up in downtown Kearny where you can see all kinds of cars from fast to luxurious or old and new and some classics. Theatrical, dance and music performances can be seen at the Kearney Community theater, Robert M. Merryman Performing Arts center, University of Nebraska Kearney Fine Arts building or the Crane River theater which holds its shows at various venues in Kearney and the surrounding area. There are also a few museums in this city. The Car Collection with more than 140 automobiles from the early 1900's to the 1980's is hosed in the Cabela's building, the Kearney Area Children's museum, the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Trails & Rails museum, the Nebraska Firefighters museum and Education center and Trails & Rails museum are interesting places to visit. In addition, approximately 20 miles South of Kearny is the Harold Warp Pioneer Village where you can see live demonstrations and over 50,000 historic items dating back to the 1830's and on. |
