Douglas County Courthouse

In the Douglas County courthouse you will find both the county court and district court (Rm. 300) which are in the Fourth judicial district of Nebraska. Befitting the county with the largest city in Nebraska, there are some really major rods here such as IS 29, IS 80, US 6, US 75, US 275, SR 64, SR 92

This city has grown some since its founding around 1854; there are a lot of people living here, over 420,000. There are so many things to do in this city that a visitor will never be bored while he is here. The Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has the world's largest indoor desert and nocturnal exhibits and one of the world's largest indoor rain forests which you can view from above if you are brave enough to go on the swinging rope bridge over it. Other features at this facility are the Scott Aquarium, Hubbard Orangutan Forest and Gorilla Valley, Durham's Bear Canyon and Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion. The Skyfari, an aerial tram, provides a wonderful of the zoo. For exciting college sports you could attend one of the ten days in June of the NCAA College World Series which has been held in this city for more than 60 years. It's now in its new venue the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. At the Durham Museum, located in Omaha's beautiful art deco Union Station, you can see exhibits including restored train cars, 1940's store fronts, numerous artifacts of the region and the Byron Reed collection which has some of the world’s rarest coins and documents. To just sit and be entertained there is the Holland Center for the Performing Arts where you can take in a concert by the Omaha Symphony, the historic Orpheum Theater for one of their productions of local plays or Broadway shows or the Omaha Community playhouse .
