The county court (Box 66) and the district court (Box 147) are located in the Fillmore County courthouse. The county court is part of the Tenth county court judicial district of Nebraska and the district court is part of the First district court judicial district of Nebraska. Us 81 runs down the entire length of Fillmore county and on the way crosses US 6, SR 41 and SR 74 taking you everywhere in the county.
About the area
Geneva can be traced back to about 1871. When the county seat was located in Geneva id was named for Geneva, Illinois; the original home of the farmer who owned the land upon which the town was built. Rialto II Theatre, is a weekend movie house but also has major performances per year produced by the Geneva Arts Council as well as plays and competitions. Geneva's recreational facilities include a city park with handicapped accessible playground equipment, ball fields, tennis courts, basketball hoop, horseshoes, a sand volleyball court, an outdoor swimming pool, and picnic facilities; an indoor swimming pool and ball fields. The former Fairmont Creamery Company building, in Fairmont, is now the main part of the the Fillmore County museum which contains a doctor's waiting room and period kitchen of a doctor whose practice was located in the building and rooms devoted to research and genealogy as well as other memorabilia. A second building, the former McClellan building, houses the World War II and the Fairmont Army Airfield display. A third building, which was the McClellan Drug store, has within it an old soda fountain, a 1905 carriage, a one room schoolhouse, over 2,400 pitchers, an iron collection, printing equipment, miscellaneous farm tools and an antique furniture display.
