If you going to either the county court or the district court proceed to the Frontier County courthouse where you will find both of them. They are each part of their respective Eleventh judicial district of Nebraska. US 83 runs down through the Western part of Frontier county but meets SR 23 in the Northern part of the county.

Stockville was established as the county seat around 1872. At one point its population grew to over 200; however the population is presently in the neighborhood of 25. As a result a few people in town have to handle much of the government activities. There are two state recreational areas in the county. Medicine Creek State Park Recreation area includes Harry Strunk lake and encompasses over 7,000 acres plus the lake. You can engage in a number of activities here such as boating, camping, fishing, hunting, picnicking, winter sports or spend you time viewing the wildlife. There are also sites for recreational vehicles. Red Willow Reservoir State Recreation area encompassing Hugh Butler lake is suitable for much the same activities.
