In the Furnas County courthouse you find the county court (Box 373) and the district court (Box 413). They are each in their respective Eleventh Nebraska judicial district. There are a few good roads you can use to get around Furnas county; US 6, US 34, US 136, US 283, SR 46, SR 47 and SR 89. |
About the area |
As you may or may not suspect Beaver City gets its name from its location along Beaver creek. The first permanent settlers came to the area in the 1860's and 1870's. Although thought of as a good location for a town, the founder continued to look at other areas before returning to the present location in late 1872 and laying out the town. He built the first store in town with his business partner. Between 1873 and 1874 a grist mill was added to the town's businesses. In present day Beaver City the Civic center has a game room, exercise room and a combined basketball/volleyball court. Monthly community dances are held in this building. This city is the site of the annual Furnas County fair. |
