The county court and the district court (Box 126) are located in the Knox County courthouse and each are part fo their respective Seventh judicial district of Nebraska. The roads in Knox county just about have the whole area covered and they include SR 12, SR 14, SR 54B, SR 59, SR 84 and SR 121.

About the area

Established around 1857 by the Territorial legislature; the county was first known as L'Eau Qui Court, the French for Running Water a description for the Niobrara river, however the legislature changed the name to Knox around 1873. Center is not called Center because it is the center of anything; but quite possibly because it sits within relatively close proximity to parks and campgrounds where you can spot different wild game and fish attractive to hunters, fishermen and bird watchers. Deer, turkey, pheasant, quail and waterfowl in large numbers can also be found in those areas and you will be treated to the rolling hills and water of the Missouri and Niobrara river valleys.
